Fair Trade Holiday Marketplace

Fair Trade Holiday Marketplace

time 3:30 pm

December 1, 2017

The weekend of December 1, 2, and 3 the Outreach Ministry Team will be hosting our 4th Annual Advent Fair Trade Holiday Marketplace.

Edibles, such as coffee, tea and chocolates, will also be available for purchase.  The coffee is from Equal Exchange. Equal Exchange is a long-time fair trade partner of Lutheran World Relief, and we are pleased to support their efforts in creating greater economic equality. Alternative gifts will be offered from our mission partners, REACH Unlimited and Northwest Assistance Ministries.  This is a wonderful opportunity to do some Christmas shopping and support Kinsmen’s mission partners.

Do you have questions about fair trade and why is it important? The fair trade certified label signifies that the farmers and artisans who grew and produced the items you buy were fairly compensated with a living and sustainable wage. Fair trade aids small-scale producers and aims to lift people out of poverty and build strong, local communities.

What are alternative gifts? An alternative gift is a donation given to an organization to support in lieu of a traditional gift.  We will have cards and information to explain how the donation is benefiting others to pass along to the recipient.

If you would like to volunteer to help with the sale please contact Renee Alfaro or Lynnae Schatz.
